The AFP detachment at Barangay Datu Gumbay in Datu Piang, Maguindanao was maliciously reported being harassed at 9pm last night by guerillas of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

But MILF Commander from the area, who do not want to be identified, belied the report even as he assailed it “lie and propaganda.”

“There was no harassment by MILF forces on that detachment of the 54th   Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army. That was a lie and ill-motivated,” he told Luwaran. Net/Com in native language.

He said that there was no harassment that took place but the indiscriminate firings all came from the government soldiers from that detachment.

 “The MILF forces will never harass that detachment because that is almost attach or very near the evacuation sites where our brothers and sisters are seeking refuge since they were displaced by the government operations last year,” the commander said.

After that drama, the military fired indiscriminate to any directions which affected the civilian communities and the thousands of evacuees seeking refuge at the school-turned evacuation center beside the military detachment, he pointed out.

Artilleries and mortars were fired by the AFP to any direction after the harassment drama, he added.

“In fact, some artillery of the AFP are mounted inside the school as far as we know,” he said.

The commander speculated that the motive of the AFP fort he harassment drama, which was the third time already, was only for propaganda painting bad image against MILF forces as attacking the Muslim evacuees.

He even added that may be the government soldiers are now war shock after having been fielded for more than nine month of indiscriminate AFP onslaught against the MILF and Muslim civilians.

“We have been familiar with all the dirty tricks and scenario creation by the government to sustain devious AFP operation,” he warned without elaborating.
